Nigeria: Senator Smart Adeyemi expresses his embarrassment as a member of the APC over the alleged election fraud

Senator Smart Adeyemi, who served as National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) twice, has expressed deep regret for his affiliation with the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC). In an interview with Arise television on the Kogi election, the senator representing Kogi West in the current Senate described the events in Kogi State during the elections as a broad daylight robbery of democracy.

He has promised to speak up soon about the electoral fraud in Kaduna and other parts of the country that involve serving governors. Senator Adeyemi, who was visibly upset by the incidents, declared that he was embarrassed to be a member of the APC. As a journalist himself, he vowed to reveal the truth about what happened during the elections in Kaduna State and other parts of Nigeria.
