Davido revealed that his father sent the police to arrest him and disrupt his shows to ensure that he completed his education. He made this known during a radio interview while noting that his father was not against his musical career but just wanted him to be educated.
In brief, he said: ” For example, if my dad sees a billboard with ‘ Davido performing, Wizkid performing ’, he would send police to arrest everybody. He was sending them so I could go back to school. Though I finished school but I had to do like part-time stuff. Not that my father hated music, he just wanted me to be done with school. And I felt like, he wanted me to be very successful in everything I do. My dad is proud of me and I am his number one fan”.
