Just In: Device Explodes in Yaounde Prior to French President’s Arrival to Cameroon. An improvised explosive device (IED) has gone off at Rond Point Damas in Cameroon’s capital, Yaounde just a few hours before the arrival of french president Emmanuel Macron to Cameroon.
According to a source, the explosive was contained in a bag and a man dropped it on the roadside and took off. He immediately rallied the surrounding and alerted the security forces.
Panic and tension surrounded the neighbourhood as Security arrived and neutralized the explosive.
This comes just a few hours before the arrival of the French President, Emmanuel Macron who is expected to discuss a wide range of issues concerning Cameroon with President Paul Biya.
