Education/Governor Nyesom Wike: You Built Schools in Areas Where There Are No Human Beings, And You Claim You Built Schools.
During the Rivers State 2023 New Year’s Banquet, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, slammed Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of the state, for saying he built primary and secondary schools for the people of Rivers State during his tenure. Wike stated that he built schools in areas where there were no human beings, and he claimed he built schools.
Wike, who read a book written under the administration of Amaechi, stated that after inspecting the educational sector, they found out that schools were built in places where there was a low population.
According to him, “I hope the former governor (Anaechi) is listening to me this night.” Is his book, oh, not mine, oh! Page 521, education sector, see what they said—a significant finding during the tour inspection is that a number of the model primary and secondary schools in the rural areas are located far from population centers.
The population is here; you built the school in 2000 kilometers; does it make sense? Or even where you locate the schools, nobody is there, and then you go and count the schools I built. Schools built but not used—is it a school? Is it a school if it’s built where there are no human beings?
