Chief Dan Ulasi narrates how kidnappers immediately set him free after he told them that he was an ex-Biafran soldier. In a video shared on YouTube by AIT News, Ulasi said he was kidnapped while driving in September last year by six men armed with AK-47s.
He said while they were taking him away, he told them that he fought in the Biafran army and they immediately stopped the vehicle. He said they told him that they would set him free but he won’t see his vehicle again and when he asked them why they changed their minds they told him that it was because their parents also fought in the Biafran army.
About 28:40 minutes into the video, Ulasi said “When I was kidnapped in September last year by six boys with Ak-47, they said what they said and I said after fighting in Biafra and you want (sic) and they stopped the vehicle midway and they asked me if I truly fought in the Biafran army and I said yes. They said I will not see my vehicle again but they will drop me and I asked why and they said because their parents also fought in the Biafra army”.
Ulasi added that the kidnappers told him that they started kidnapping for ransom because they could not get a job after they graduated from school and he advised them that what they were doing was wrong and crime can never be justified.
