ASUU/Nigeria: Kwara government offers free transportation to students. The Kwara State Government has provided free transportation to all interested students attending tertiary institutions in the Northern region of the nation upon the start of academic activities as a sign of its sympathetic disposition toward the predicament of students.
In the wake of the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ eight-month strike suspension, this took place.
This was revealed at a meeting in Ilorin on Monday by the commissioner for higher education, Dr. Alabi Abolore.
Mansurat Amuda-kannike, the ministry’s press secretary, issued a statement on Tuesday that said in part, The Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led Administration is extending the fruits of democracy to Kwara State Students in tertiary institutions across the country.
In his explanation, he stated that worried students traveling to the North are required to attend for quick documentation on the day of their departure at the Ministry of Tertiary Education’s facilities, located along Offa Road, GRA, Ilorin, on Saturday, October 29, 2022, by 6:30 am.
When a potential recipient opens an account on the web platform, the commissioner further revealed that the Ministry is also about to finish disbursing bursaries.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to Your Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on behalf of my Ministry, parents guardians, and outstanding Nigerian students, for yet another awesome magnanimity and demonstration of sincerity in taking Kwara of our dream to the promised land, Abolore said.
