Lagos State – In a recent development, a man by the name of Amarah Kennedy has been apprehended by the Gender Unit of the Lagos Police Headquarters for allegedly engaging in the distribution of explicit photographs belonging to women he had been romantically involved with. According to reliable sources from the state police command, Kennedy’s arrest was the result of a comprehensive investigation.
Kennedy, who is currently under investigation, is expected to face legal proceedings for his actions, as confirmed by a police source close to the case. It has come to light that the accused had cultivated relationships with numerous single women, acquiring their intimate pictures in the process. Subsequently, he would employ extortion tactics and blackmail the victims, coercing them into providing him with money. Failure to comply with his demands would result in compromising photos being shared with individuals on Facebook.
The police source shed light on Kennedy’s modus operandi, stating, “Upon gaining access to the woman’s Facebook page, he would send one of the photos to her friends. This alarming discovery would prompt the victim to hastily send money to prevent further circulation of the images. This pattern continued until he eventually shared the photos with a widow’s church’s WhatsApp group and even disclosed them to her late husband’s family.”
While Kennedy allegedly targeted around ten women with his exploitative tactics, it has been reported that only two of them have expressed their intent to pursue legal action against him.
